“….You know Skylar Grey by now, right?….the biggest smash she’s ever assisted on was one she helped write for someone else—Eminem and Rihanna’s “Love the Way You Lie,” whose chorus was scribed by Grey….like fellow songwriter-cum-pop-star Jessie J recently giving “Party in the USA” a live workout, Grey decided to answer the “What If?” question herself by recording a clip of her playing “Love the Way You Lie” herself….”

Lozza Music – “LTWYL” Acoustic Performance ::
“….You’ve probably heard Skylar Grey….she is a phenomenal talent and here is her singing her most successful hit with just a piano in a hotel room. I don’t get goosebumps from listening to music, but if I did, I’m pretty sure I’d have them now….”

“….Grey….has performed a stunning acoustic rendition of the Rihanna ‘Love The Way You Lie Part II’ song that she wrote for her “Loud” album….AMAZING!! I’m in love with this girl’s voice. Angelic!….”

Skylar Grey CI :: BMI MusicWorld Feature

BMI’s (Broadcast Music, Inc.) M. Sean Ryan has written a MusicWorld feature on Ms. Grey which was posted online last night, detailing some of her recent success, and her current process recording her upcoming debut album and working relationship with Alex Da Kid. Check out an excerpt below, or click the logo to read the full article.

MusicWorld – The Shadow and The Spotlight: Skylar Grey | BMI ::
“….If there’s a thread coursing through Skylar Grey’s hot-streak, it’s UK beat-making phenom Alex Da Kid. The prolific producer’s towering, dystopian soundscapes have proven an ideal foil to Grey’s emotive vocals….though she admits that non-acoustic composition is different, Grey has no desire to work with another producer. “It requires little effort to communicate ideas across,” she says, “it’s natural. We’re both brutal about stuff—we don’t get precious….we have clashes all the time. I think there’s no other way to make great music with somebody—you have to disagree….
