“….Grey is signed to a production deal on Alex Da Kid’s Wonderland Music and is now working with the producer on her own album, which will be released on Interscope. Though most of her previous work has been alternative pop, she’s unsure what direction her new music will take. ‘Alex and I have a way of pushing each other out of our comfort zones, which is a good thing because it creates this sound that we haven’t heard before….’

Britney Spears also recently made comments (in OUT magazine) stating that if there’s one song from the last 10 years that she wishes she’d recorded herself, it’s “Love The Way You Lie”. Click the photo below to read the entire article.

Skylar Grey LXIV :: “American Idol” Official Press Release

As was mentioned before, Ms. Grey will be performing “Coming Home” (with Diddy-Dirty Money) tomorrow evening on American Idol. Please view the official press release regarding the performance below!

American Idol Performance (09-MAR-2011) ::

March 9, 2011 — Santa Monica, CA — Following a critically-acclaimed breakout performance at the GRAMMY Awards, Skylar Grey, who has become known for her songwriting and featured vocal collaborations with Eminem and Dr. Dre, T.I., Lupe Fiasco, and Diddy Dirty Money, will perform “Coming Home,” with the group on American Idol this week, during the live results show on Thursday, March 10th. In addition to being featured on the song, Grey is also a co-writer.

Grey, who just signed with Interscope Records, following a production deal with producer/songwriter Alex Da Kid for his Wonderland Music imprint is currently in the studio with Alex Da Kid writing and recording her debut album for Wonderland Music/Interscope Records, for which she intends to release the lead-off single this spring. Most recently, Grey earned two 2011 Grammy Award nominations including “Song of the Year” for her collaboration to “Love the Way You Lie” and performed “I Need A Doctor” alongside Eminem and Dr. Dre at this year’s GRAMMY Award ceremony. Initially, Grey made a name for herself as a songwriter with such high-profile collaborations as “Love The Way You Lie” (Eminem), “I Need A Doctor” (Dr. Dre), “Words I Never Said” (Lupe Fiasco), and “Castle Walls” (T.I.), Grey was also featured as a vocalist on “Love the Way You Lie,” “Doctor,” and “Words.”

“Getting to perform on television with Eminem and Dr. Dre still doesn’t feel real to me and now to perform with Diddy-Dirty Money in the course of a month is unreal,” said Grey.  “I’m really excited about the opportunity to perform on Idol.  It’s incredible to have all of this leading into my album coming this year – I am so fortunate.”

Please visit and follow her @SkylarGrey for more information in the months ahead.

Billboard – Grey Parlay’s Hit-Making Into Solo Career ::
“….Against all odds, a young, relatively unknown artist is chosen to sing the hook she penned for a track by a high-profile rapper. Not only that, she’s also asked to perform the single on the industry’s biggest music stage: the Grammy Awards. And the singer nails the performance. So much so that she becomes a top trending topic on Twitter, and her phone starts ringing off the hook with more collaboration requests. In the meantime, the clock shows no signs of striking midnight as the singer/songwriter is also busy finally fulfilling a longtime dream: writing and recording her own solo album….”
